- Prof. Jungmok Seo’s group successfully completed participation in CES 2024
- Lynk Solutec, a laboratory-based start-up company, completed the exhibition at CES 2024. Through this exhibition, the launch of ‘C.E.V. (Clear Endo Vision)’, a disposable endoscope cap with nano-coating technology, was announced. A meeting with Seoul mayor was held at the CES 2024 Seoul integrated pavilion. Prof. Jungmok Seo attended as a representative of Seoul enterprises and talked about improving startup regulations and systems.

- Kyowon Kang (Professor Yu Research Group)'s paper published in nature communications
- Kyowon Kang (first author) and Professor Ki Jun Yu (corresponding author), have successfully developed a fully-implantable wireless powered tactile sensory system embedded artificial skin (WTSA), with stable operation, to restore permanently damaged tactile function and promote wound healing for regenerating severely damaged skin. The research was published in Nature Communications (IF 16.6), an international academic and the top authority in multidisciplinary engineering.

- Prof. Kyeon Hur's group innovates the power grid modeling and analysis through KEPCO Open R&D Grant
- Professor Kyeon Hur (Smart Grid Lab.) will lead the 2023 Korea Power Open R&D project, advancing the dynamic modeling and analysis of the renewable-rich power grid. The research team involving Korea Grid Forming (Smart Grid Lab Startup), Sangmyung U, and ESP, has been granted 2 billion KRW from Korea Electric Power Corporation from January 2024 to December 2026. This initiative aims to establish new benchmarks for dependable power grid planning and operations.

- Prof. Chae’s research team has published the paper titled “A Highly Digital 143.2-dB DR Sub-1◦ Phase Error Impedance Monitoring IC With Pulsewidth Modulation Frontend” in the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits (JSSC), which is a leading academic journal in the field of circuit and system (IF 5.4). This research paper demonstrates innovative findings that using PWM for sensor interface yields improved area, power, and phase error performance. This work was supervised under Prof. Youngcheol Chae (Corresponding author) and led by graduate student Hyeonho Han (first author).

- Research from Prof. Yongshik Lee's Lab Published in Scientific Reports
- The paper, titled “Multifunctional Coil Technique for Alignment-Agnostic and Rx Coil Size-Insensitive Efficiency Enhancement for Wireless Power Transfer Applications”, showcases a multifunctional coil technology. In this paper, a technology utilizing auxiliary coils is demonstrated that can maintain high efficiency even in cases of extreme misalignment between transmitting and receiving coils in a wireless power transfer system. Despite being structurally the simplest among the auxiliary coil technologies reported so far, this is the first reported case of a multifunctional coil technology that allows compensation not only in structurally asymmetric systems where the auxiliary coil is attached only to the transmitting coil, but also in size asymmetric structures where the size of the receiving coil is smaller than that of the transmitting coil. With such enhanced practicality, it is anticipated that this technology will find applications in various wireless charging systems where misalignment is frequent in the future. This project was led by graduate student Miss Seoyeon Yoon under the supervision of Prof. Yongshik Lee.

- Prof. Yong-June Shin and Yonggu Lee, a Ph.D. candidate under Dr. Shin’s supervision, published a paper entitled “Oscillation Parameter Estimation via State-Space Modeling of Synchrophasors” in IEEE Transactions on Power Systems ((Impact Factor: 6.6, Rank (Engineering, Electrical & Electronic): 44/275). This work was supported under the framework of the international cooperation program managed by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF).

- Ph. D. Candidate Chol Min Kim (under supervision of Prof. Kyeon Hur) won the grand prize in speech contest
- Mr. Chol Min Kim (under Prof. Kyeon Hur’s supervision) won the grand prize at the 8th Electric Love Speech contest, organized by the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO). The competition, themed 'National Proposals for the Advancement of Power and Energy Industries,’ attended with the topic 'DC Transmission Systems for Alleviating Distances between Power Production and Consumption Regions.' They presented on the necessity of establishing a domestic HVDC transmission system to transmit surplus power from the West Sea and Honam regions to the metropolitan area. Among over a hundred participants at the 8th Electric Love Speech Contest, Researcher Chol Min Kim won the grand prize (Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy Award).
