- Prof. Hwang’s lab ranked 1st place in the Medical Datathon Brain Metastasis Segmentation mission and won the Excellence
- Yangho Lee, Yunsu Byeon, Heyongyu Kim, Geonhui Son, Hyungseob Shin and Yohan Jun(Advisor: Prof. Dosik Hwang) won the Excellence Award at the 2021 Medical Data AI Datathon hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information society Agency. About 40 teams from domestic universities and companies participated in this Datathon and Prof. Hwang’s research team received the Excellence Award and 3 million won in prize money for achieving 1st place in the Brain Metastasis Segmentation mission.

- Prof. Seo’s laboratory spin-off company, Lynksolutec, received a gold prize in ‘2021 University Laboratory Start-up Uni-Tec Demo Day’. 2021 University Laboratory Start-up Uni-Tec Demo Day was hosted by Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and Commercializations Promotion Agency for R&D Outcomes. Lynksolutec competed with 12 pre-selected companies, earning a gold prize for their bright business ideas and products.

- Young Uk Cho and Juyoung Lee (Professor Yu’s team) “Ultra-Low Cost, Facile Fabrication of Transparent Neural Electrode A
- Young Uk Cho (first author), Juyoung Lee (first author), and Professor Ki Jun Yu (corresponding author) have successfully developed a transparent, implantable neural electrode array for simultaneous electrophysiological with optogenetics. This research was conducted with a collaboration of the research team of Dr. Il-Joo Cho of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). Based on the results of this study, it will be used for mass production of a transparent neural interface and for breakthrough monitoring and treatment of neuro-degenerative diseases. This world’s first ultra-low-cost, high-efficiency process to fabricate a transparent neural interface, was published in Advanced Functional Materials (IF 18.808, < JCR Top 3%), one of the most prestigious journals in multidisciplinary science and engineering.

- Byung Ha Kang(Prof. Hyun Jae Kim’s Lab) Nano Energy Journal Accept
- Byung Ha Kang (Memory Division, Samsung Electronics), a Ph.D. graduate from Hyun Jae Kim’s lab, developed an organic/inorganic hybrid oxide phototransistor-based PPG (photoplethysmogram) sensor. The paper was accepted at Nano Energy Journal (16th in Materials Science Area, IF 17.881, JCR 4.79%). This research team demonstrated the difference in photocurrent generated by changing the solvent in the organic material used in the organic/inorganic hybrid oxide phototransistor and suggested the use of the PPG sensor into a healthcare platform being used at low and high heart rates.
