The GIT scholarships above indicate financial support per regular semester (six months).

The scholarships can be granted up to the 4th semester of Th.M., and up to the 5th semester of Ph.D. according to the student's academic achievement and GPA scores.

From the 4th semester, the tuition fee will be 863,200 KRW per semester(12% amount of the regular fees).

Students will reside in a double-room dormitory inside the Yonsei international campus (Songdo) with one roommate.

To see more details regarding the dormitory, please go to [STUDENT LIFE] > "Housing".

In terms of support for living expenses, the scholarships will be given through a monthly transfer (300,000 KRW * 6 months) for those living in Korea.

For the new students, the stipends will be supported "after" they receive the foreign registration card and create the Korean bank account which may take at least one month from their arrival. In this respect, it is strongly recommended that new students should bring enough amount of personal expenses to settle down in Korea.

Please note that other living expenses such as airfare, exterior housing fees, visa application fees, and so on are NOT covered by the school.

Cost of Living in Korea

How much money will you need for your stay in Incheon, South Korea? The tables below serve only as a guide, and are not exhaustive. They do not include other costs like books, laptops, bedding and winter clothing. Cost of living rates are also affected by inflation.

While we do receive a generous monthly stipend (24 months for ThM students, and 30 months for PhD students), you may still need additional funds for your time as a student, and we want to help you make an informed decision as a prospective student. How much you spend in the end will depend on the type of lifetsyle you want to live.

Occasionally, some students may receive additional financial support through church attachments and internships. Groceries (such as rice, eggs, canned tuna and spam) may also be supplied intermittently through the support of various private donors. (updated as of Nov, 2025)
